Living safely in rural areas
Most of North Yorkshire is rural and, for this reason, the police work very hard to keep countryside crime to a minimum.
Below are some basic steps you can take to help secure your rural property:
- Lock all gates to prevent access to your property
- Lock and secure agricultural vehicles when not in use
- Consider physical security devices such as immobilisers, alarms, enhanced lighting and CCTV
- Encourage all users to store plant materials away after they have finished with them
